“Hannah and Other Stories:” Two Months Till Re-Release!!!

Happy 100 days till Halloween! Now is the time to start getting serious for spooky season. Decide your costumes and lawn decorations, stock up on candy for the trick or treaters, and decide on movies and books to enjoy. I’ll have a separate blog post for the movies, but in this post, let me recommend something for your reading list:

Hannah and Other Stories is a collection coming out on September 23rd and features seven scary stories, ranging from ghost stories to serial killers to carnivorous horses. It was originally published in September 23, 2023, and then went out of print when the publisher and I parted ways. Now, it’s coming out again, two years to the day it was originally released.

And in this edition, not only is there a brand-new cover (I mean, look at that thing! It’s gorgeous!), but I’ve updated the stories. Not only are they cleared of some of the spelling/grammar/punctuation errors I found during the first release, but I added some things that were missing or taken out during the first run. So, while the stories are very much like what was published, the additions and changes I made have much improved them.

So, I’m very excited for people to read these updated stories. And there are a growing number of people who are preordering it, including a supervisor at work! (He thinks the story about the haunted bathroom sounds neat.) It helps that this time around, unlike the first round, there’s going to be a paperback edition. Believe me, I’m excited for the paperback edition!

And if you would like to preorder a copy, I’ll include links below. You can preorder the ebook from all four sites, and the paperback from Barnes & Noble (still not sure why Amazon has such a weird policy for preordering paperbacks from self-published authors, but whatever).

And if you do preorder and read Hannah, I hope you’ll leave a review. Positive or negative, I love reader feedback. And it helps me out as an author, as well as other readers when it comes to their reading choices.

“Hannah and Other Stories” Has Finally Been Released!!!

Everybody, quick! Light the sparklers! Get out the snacks! Pour the wine! Play the wild dance music! Put in your favorite horror movie! Prepare a sacrifice for the Great Old Ones! Summon demons to dance with us while we writhe in terror and ecstasy! Run through the streets in terrifying costumes while carrying lit torches! But most of all, find a place to read and start reading, because Hannah and Other Stories is finally released and available to read!

Okay, so if you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of months, Hannah and Other Stories is my new collection of short stories. It was first accepted by BSC Publishing Group in October 2021, and we’ve been spending the past two years making sure it’s ready for all of you to read when the time comes.

And now, that time has come: today is September 23rd, 2023, meaning Hannah is finally out for you all to read. And I am so excited for you all to read this collection! I’ve been saying it for a while now, but Hannah is the perfect book to read for the Halloween season. And why wouldn’t it be? It has tales of ghosts, budding serial killers, and carnivorous horses, just to name a few!

Anyway, if you preordered the book, I hope you’re looking forward to getting into it. And if you haven’t, I hope you decide to download a copy today. I’ve put a lot of hard work into this collection and I cannot wait to see what everyone thinks of it.

And whether you preordered the book or just bought a copy today, I hope you’ll let me know what you think when you finish reading it. Are you guys tired of hearing about Hannah and Other Stories yet? You’re not? Good, because this isn’t the last time I’ll be talking about it.

Anyway, as you probably know, Hannah and Other Stories is my upcoming collection of short stories. Within the book will be tales of ghosts, budding serial killers, and carnivorous horses, among other things. And as of now, we have a specific release date, rather than just the vague “Fall 2023.”

So, are you reading to find out the date of release? Are you ready? Well, let me tell you. The release date is…

You know what, I think I’ll just keep it under wraps for a little while longer.

Kidding! Just kidding! No need to panic or sound off in the comments.

In all seriousness, here we go: the release date of Hannah and Other Stories will be Saturday, September 23rd, 2023!

So, there you have it. The release date will be September 23rd, right before the Halloween season really ramps up. Hopefully it makes one hell of an impression on readers.

Now, you’re probably wondering where and when it’ll be available for preorder. I’ll have the links for preorders as soon as they’re available, and then I’ll make sure to pass them on to you. Should you wish to preorder, you can do so then.

I’m really hoping Hannah does well, and maybe even gets plenty of preorders. For now, the book will only be available as an ebook, but if it does well, it’ll be released as a paperback and even as an audiobook! I would love for that to happen. It would not only mean that more people could read the book in their preferred format, it would mean people really liked Hannah and want to support it.

And speaking of support, thank you all for your support with this book, as well as your patience. I know it’s been a year and a half since Hannah was first accepted for publication, but I swear that it is on its way and all the waiting and clamoring and excitement will be worth it.

“Agoraphobia:” Release Date and Cover Reveal!!!

This day has been full of exciting stuff happening behind the scenes. In fact, quite a lot has been happening on and off the blog. I can’t go into all of it right now, but I hope to get a few out before this time next week. For now, however, there’s an important one I have to make.

As I announced previously, my next e-release will be “Agoraphobia,” a short story I wrote last year about a man with severe anxiety and agoraphobia who has contend with the possibility of leaving his home during a hurricane. It gets even worse when something gets into his home.

I haven’t talked about it since then, but guess what? I’ve finished looking over the manuscript, the cover’s been created and the release date is set. The gears, ladies and gentlemen, are moving and “Agoraphobia” will release on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021! Why that date? No reason. I just believe stories, from short stories to novels, should have a good lead up time so that as many people as possible can get excited/interested in reading it.

And now, for the cover reveal. This cover was created by Don Noble and Rooster Republic Press. They do some amazing cover work, if you’re interested (you can check out their design services here). And I have to say, I love what they’ve done with my ideas:

Pretty cool, right? It’s quite atmospheric and I love the title font. And it really evokes the hurricane element.

So, where do you get “Agoraphobia” if you’re interested? I’ve include the Amazon links below. It’s available for pre-order, and at only 99 cents (or 77 pence in Britain or $1.26 in Canada). And if you do decide to read it after it comes out, please let me know what you think. Positive or negative, I love reader feedback, and it helps me, as well as other readers, out in the long run.

And yes, I’m sorry that it’s only available in e-book format. Print versions will only be available at events where I’m a vendor as chapbooks. (Click here to see what events I’ll be attending and when) Yeah, it’s a marketing strategy I’m trying. Here’s hoping it pays off.

I’ve been waiting all day–since yesterday, when Castrum made known to me their intentions–to announce this. Through a long work day, social media posts and devouring a pizza to celebrate/get out of cooking tonight, I’ve been waiting for the moment where I can make this announcement. After fifteen months of edits and quiet planning and not-so-quiet planning, my novel Rose, being released by Castrum Press, has a release date.

Now, if you’re new here and you don’t know what Rose is, first off, hello! Welcome to the Followers of Fear! Second, Rose is a fantasy-horror novel that follows a young woman who starts turning into a plant creature (and that’s just the start of her problems). I wrote the first draft as a thesis project for college. Four years after finishing the first draft, the book is finally getting ready to be released. After so many changes and numerous rewrites, it’s finally coming out.

But Rami, I hear you all thinking, when is it coming out?

Well, Castrum has quoted to me a target date for June 21st, 2019. At any rate, we’re going to try to get the book out right around then, with the advanced copies being sent a couple of weeks prior. So yeah, it’ll be a little over a month and a half till Rose hits the digital and (hopefully) physical bookstores. And between now and then, I’ll be doing marketing work and doing final edits for the manuscript. At some point in the next couple of weeks the cover art will be finalized, and we’ll put everything together in an awesome little package.

Honestly, I’m both excited and nervous, and my anxiety is trying to bite and tell me all the things that could go wrong. I’m keeping it in its place and letting it know those things won’t happen in all likelihood, and just trying to remind myself all the big things ahead to get excited for. A dream I’ve held for almost twenty years is finally coming to fruition. There’s only one thing to do, and that’s to alternate between celebrating and working hard to ensure it goes well.

With that in mind, Castrum says the last date to get on the advanced readers list is June 7th.
